Matt: I really appreciate the recommendation on the separation of the line number from the code. This is something I have been banging my head about when it comes to Pygments. It looks like I need to do some more digging on Pygments and try to get more from the tool. :)

Jekyll is great. One little addition: You can use the following snippet to separate the line numbers from the code inside Pygments:
{% highlight ruby linenos=table %}
