This post may be a little out-dated but it can still be pretty useful. If anyone has a additional tools that should be installed to setup a Windows 7 platform for Ruby on Rails, Django Python and Jekyll development please let me know.

Matt: I really appreciate the recommendation on the separation of the line number from the code. This is something I have been banging my head about when it comes to Pygments. It looks like I need to do some more digging on Pygments and try to get more from the tool. :)

Jekyll is great. One little addition: You can use the following snippet to separate the line numbers from the code inside Pygments:
{% highlight ruby linenos=table %}
